Do You Know Your Moisturizer Ingredients- Are They Safe

I was saddened, though not surprised, to read that there are estrogen like related compounds in a number of moisturizers that are in the market. Due to the diligent research of Dr. Adrienne Olsen, a breast cancer survivor herself, some interesting findings have turned up.

Dr. Olsen submitted 16 moisturizers for analysis to a lab and it turns out 6 of them have estrogen-like ingredients -ie estriol or estrone! This is a bit scary but the fda doesn't need to list ingredients of moisturizers.

Earlier in 2008 Rutgers U had research that four common moisturizers promoted skin cancer in mice. Included in that study were popular brands Dermabase, Eucerin Original Moisturizing Cream, and Vanicream.

Please be careful about what you use on your skin as your skin can absorb ingredients (that is why we have nicotine patches etc). For all natural products visit Miracle 2 Soap Products .

Eczema and Allergies: Is Your Eczema Rash an Allergic Reaction

There's been news recently by the Center for Disease Control that allergic reactions from foods and the environment are rising and this results in digestive and skin rash reactions. I have seen a number of clients with eczema rash symptoms this year. One told me he gets them from food dyes in certain foods such as m and m candies.

Another person was able to trace his eczema rash back to some products she used which she believed were Bounce, Glade Plug-Ins and Febreeze. She even noticed that people she saw in supermarket with strong fragrance and cover up products such as these simultaneously had benadryl and anti-allergy antidotes in their carts! It doesn't make sense to buy both what creates a reaction and relieves it.

You can try on your own to watch what you eat, remove products with potential allergens and take supplemental omega 3 and 6 oils, moisturize twice a day and be careful about the products you use on your body in the environment. This can give you a natural remedy for eczema and protect your skin from further vulnerability. You can also get allergy testing done to determine what factors in the environment may be at play for your red patches and bump symptoms.

Be conscious if they are doing construction at work , school or your home as various chemicals may be released into the environment. My friend found that she had a bad eczema flare up reaction at work during this period and it may have been from formaldehyde. Try and figure out the triggers and avoid them.
